Precise correction.
Clear vision.
Femto-LASIK corrects short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism using precise laser technology. This established method enables many people to live with significantly less dependence on glasses and contact lenses.
The femtosecond laser creates an ultra-thin flap in the cornea, which is gently lifted.
The excimer laser reshapes the corneal surface individually to correct your refractive error – precisely and gently.
The corneal flap is folded back into place. It seals on its own – for clear and stable results.
Most patients experience a marked improvement within 24–48 hours. The eye typically reaches full stabilisation after a few weeks.
Femto-LASIK is one of the most frequently performed and scientifically confirmed laser eye treatments worldwide – with excellent long-term results.
The treatment is performed using numbing eye drops and is usually barely painful. A feeling of pressure may arise during the procedure. In the first few hours afterwards, the eyes may temporarily burn, water or become light-sensitive.
Femto-LASIK is a long-established procedure. As with any surgical procedure, however, possible risks and side effects exist. A thorough pre-examination is essential to determine whether the method is suitable for your eyes.
Depending on their occupation, many patients can return to work within a few days. The exact recovery time varies individually and depends, among other things, on the healing process and professional demands.
The actual laser treatment takes only a few minutes per eye. Allow more time in total for preparation, the treatment and the subsequent check-up. The clinic will inform you about the exact procedure before the treatment.
Femto-LASIK is not suitable for every eye. Certain corneal conditions, an unsuitable corneal structure, unstable vision values or other eye conditions may speak against the treatment. Individual suitability is assessed during a thorough pre-examination.
The correction achieved by the laser treatment can remain stable in the long term. However, the eye can continue to change over the course of life – for example due to presbyopia or other age-related changes. Glasses or additional treatment at a later stage can therefore not be ruled out in principle.
Temporarily, dry eyes, light sensitivity, glare or fluctuations in visual acuity may occur, among other things. Further possible risks depend on your individual starting situation and are discussed in detail as part of the medical consultation.
The healing process and treatment outcome can vary from person to person. Final suitability for Femto-LASIK can only be assessed after a thorough ophthalmological pre-examination.
